General FAQ

What does DBA make?

We manufacture all sorts of things! We specialize in mining truck exhaust parts and mining truck exhaust systems, but we also put together mining truck coolant parts, coolant systems, air intake parts, and air intake systems. In addition to these items, we offer exhaust accessories and other useful products such as clamps, hump hoses, mining truck ladders, and wheel motor covers. Our website has a section dedicated to the many components we have available for purchase, and our catalogue features similar information.

What about custom work?

Yep, we do that too. We can modify any of our standard parts for your particular application, or build you a tailor-made system. A lot of our custom projects involve the replacement of corroded mufflers on fishing vessels.

Do you offer any additional services?

You betcha. We often assist local customers with their sand blasting and powder coating needs. And when our water jet cutting machine isn’t making components such as flanges, it’s probably producing signage and metal art.

How do I get pricing and availability?

You can obtain lead times and component costs by emailing info@dbasilencing.ca or calling our office at 1-800-661-5886.

Where can you ship your products?

DBA parts are in use all over the world, from Europe to North America to Australia, and we can send orders anywhere. Many of our customers ask us to crate up the items they require and ship on their corporate accounts, and others prefer that we make all the arrangements and just add the cost of transport to their invoices.

In some cases, when a mining truck is down and parts are needed in a hurry, we can do a “hot shot” delivery where components are driven directly from our facility to the mine site.

Do you have technicians who can offer assistance?

We sure do. While we don’t often send members of our team into the field, we do have several individuals who will travel to mine sites under particular circumstances. If, for instance, you’ve decided to save money and reduce downtime by switching over your 80-truck fleet to DBA exhaust systems, one of our experts may be able to visit your location and help with some of the initial installations.

Exhaust Systems FAQ

What are your exhaust systems made of?

While we occasionally utilize stainless steel and black steel, the vast majority of our mining truck exhaust parts are fashioned from aluminized steel.

Can your aftermarket kits be used to replace OEM systems?

Absolutely. While some of our aftermarket systems have been configured differently from their OEM equivalents in order to improve performance, they’ll fit just fine {and cost far less}. DBA Silencing is also an OEM supplier for Liebherr Mining Equipment.

How do you minimize surface temperatures on your exhaust parts?

Most companies manage the extreme heat of mining truck exhaust systems using thermal blankets or a double-wall design on their components. DBA does things a little differently.

We’ve developed a unique and proprietary approach that involves encasing exhaust parts in rigid composite shells that feature multiple layers of insulation and fibreglass. These composite shells have been exceedingly effective when it comes to reducing operator injuries and truck fires.

Air Intake & Coolant Systems FAQ

Why should I buy DBA coolant components?

You should consider purchasing DBA coolant components for the same reasons people buy our air intake and exhaust units: affordability, durability, and ease of installation. DBA parts and systems are substantially less expensive than their OEM counterparts. In most cases, they’re also more cost-effective than the aftermarket comparables available through other firms.

DBA’s parts also tend to require replacement less often than corresponding products from other suppliers. DBA systems are segmented and lightweight, which results in several advantages. The first is that there’s less strain on the individual items in our assemblies and – as a result – they last longer. The second benefit is that initial installations are easier, and the same goes for the swapping out of specific components.

Do your air intake parts come with a warranty?

DBA’s air intake parts are similar to our coolant and exhaust components in the sense that they’re high-quality units carefully constructed by our team of expert welders using top-grade materials. DBA parts fitted onto stationary systems – in power plants, say – will often last for decades. Parts on mining trucks, on the other hand, generally have shorter life spans due to the rigors of the field; mining trucks are typically subjected to not only bouncing and vibration, but also temperature extremes and clogging agents such as mud.

It’s difficult to provide guarantees for specific periods under these circumstances, but most DBA components will withstand even the harshest conditions for one to three years. That said, we do stand behind our products and we usually provide free replacements for any units that develop problems within a month or two of seeing action.

Will the units I order arrive ready to be installed?

They will indeed. Before our air intake and coolant components are crated in our shipping department, the appropriate industrial coatings are applied, various tests are performed, and a series of checks are completed. The units you receive can be pressed into service immediately.
